Co-Founder, PhD Professor of Chemistry
Skip Pomeroy is a professor in the department of Chemistry and Biochemistry at UC San Diego. He is a member of the California Center for Algae Biotechnology, the Center for Aerosol Impacts on Climate and the Environment and Food and Fuel for the 21st Century organized research unit at UC San Diego. His research involves green/renewable chemistry, environmental chemistry and forensic analysis. Skip received his BA degree from UC San Diego in Chemistry with a specialization in Earth Sciences, a MS in Analytical Chemistry from Cal Poly Pomona, a PhD in Analytical Chemistry from the University of Arizona working with Bonner Denton. Skip followed up his PhD with a post-doctoral fellowship at Scripps Institution of Oceanography and stints at Eastman Kodak, the US Naval Academy and Nova Southeastern University. While at NSU he also served as the head of R&D for Southern Grouts and Mortars. Skip returned to UC San Diego in 2007.
